The Golden Envelopes are mysterious wax-sealed letters that contain instructions for performing rituals that can transport individuals to another world. A select group of individuals receive these golden letters, marked with an eye symbol on the wax seal. To be chosen, one must write and send their name in a envelope.
The Three-Room Ritual[]
"You must play alone."
Requirements:
- 3 dark, adjacent rooms
- 12 candles
- A lighter or matches
- A rune
- A tuft of human hair
- White chalk or white hair
Preparations: "Start after the sun has set. All 3 rooms must be pitch black; turn off all the lights, draw the curtains, and close the doors. Using the chalk or paint, draw a path going through the 3 rooms. This path will serve to connect your current location to your destination. In the middle room, place 6 candles on each side of the drawn path, parallel to it."
Instructions: "Light each of the candles and let them burn for at least 5 minutes. from this point, you can no longer abort the ritual. After the 5 minutes have passed, burn the tuft of hair on one of the candles. Proceed to blow out all the candles one by one. When the last candle is put out, quickly close your eyes and count to 100. Open your eyes."
Remember: "You must always close the door behind you. Leaving it open may attract unwanted attention. Do NOT let the rune out of your possession. It is your only protection. Do not bring any weapons with you. If you arm yourself, so will they. Should anything be heard or felt while you count to 100, it must be ignored. Do NOT open your eyes. Do NOT turn on the lights. Do NOT move. It is normal to feel like you are not alone. You won't be."
Project Kat[]
In Project Kat, Kat performs The Three-Room Ritual. Interestingly, instead of a golden envelope, she has a simple handwritten note. She arranges desks in a classroom before realizing she needs a missing curtain from the theater club room. Unable to access it, she trades a notebook to the ponytail girl for the key and successfully retrieves the curtain. She then cuts her own hair with scissors, draws lines with chalk in each room, lights candles, and uses a rune from the Occult Club room.
After waiting for 5 minutes, Kat suddenly heard a loud knock on the door. She checked, but there was nobody there. She could leave the classroom and go to the Occult Club room. Inside an open drawer, she found a golden envelope containing the full details of the ritual rules. Going back to the classroom, she burns a piece of her hair and watches as the candles in the room extinguish on their own, leaving her in complete darkness. As she tries to count to 100 as per the rules, she finds herself getting distracted by strange noises around her, giving the impression that she ends up unintentionally breaking the rules. However, she doesn't end up getting killed, since when she finally opens her eyes, she finds herself in a completely unfamiliar and strange place.
The Bus Ritual[]
"You must play alone."
Requirements:
- An indoor location
- A landline phone
- A red thread
- Red paint
- A rune
- A clock
Preparations: "Complete the preparations before the sun has set. Tie a red thread too the phone cord. Using the red paint, draw the following symbol on the exit door of your chosen location. The door must lead outside. Set the alarm clock to midnight."
Instructions: "Go to sleep. When the alarm clock rings, get up and dial the following number on the phone: 999281#0. When the line connects, say the following words: "My bus is late". Board the bus before it leaves. Place the rune inside the ticket machine."
Remember: "Do not bring any weapons with you. The phone may no longer look the same at night. Remember the placement of the numbers."
The Ritual of the Well[]
In Project Kat, during one-way building, Kat discovers golden envelopes containing mysterious rituals. Some of the rituals include "The Mirror Ritual," "The Ritual of the Well," "The Bus Ritual," and "The Three-Room Ritual," which Kat has recently finished. However, the instructions for The Ritual of the Well remains unknown.
The Mirror Ritual[]
The instructions for "The Mirror Ritual" are also unknown, just like with the previously mentioned ritual.
